Tide change. 22-06-12
Standing at the shores edge
Entranced by the movement
Warm wind meeting salt loch,
An infinity of life in-between.
Patterns and colours
Tracing out pre-destiny
Cyclical surges interwoven
whorls of weed within water.
Floundering at the shores edge
Fish breaking through silver.
In warm sandy shallows.
Gulls watching intently,
Easy in the space between,
Sunlight, wind and tide,
Form their elaborate dance
Causing mountains to move.
Watching at the shores edge
Hills and rocks melt away
Vision blurred by hair stirred
In that breathless warm wind
When the pattern is broken
The cycles become complete
Definition disintegrates
Currents carry no certainty.
Pausing at the Edge
Obligations grown up or gone
Duty served and worn away.
Summer winds carry change,
Hope shimmers underneath,
Converging river and Loch.
Surprised by a broken pattern
And a sudden incoming Tide.
