Balnacra Arts by Vicky Stonebridge

Tides

The tide relentless
breathes cold
ambivalence.
Heart beat of waves
softens rocks and cliffs.
Sun arcs
clouds close and open,
Moon wheels
Pirouetting endless.
Light gives way
to starry indifference.
All in perfect circles
weaving giant rhythms
while we tiny humans
play in the spaces.
Intent on individuality
self determining sentience
stubborn denial,
scattered egos,
isolated and blinded,
to the relentless,
cyclic rhythms .
Beating time into shape
breathing and spinning
perpetual connected motion.

It was great to meet Yogesh Mahida today, an artist from Gujarat. He's worked with a few mutual friends so it was lovely to meet him myself at last. He threw a cracking big bowl while at the studio, great skills! #masterpotter #artist #ceramics #pottery #wheelthrown #bowl #clay
