The Pottery studio is Now CLOSED to the public and visitors due to the pandemic.
I will be continuing to make pottery and selling on line, but I will be self isolating in the studio and at home & would ask everybody to respect this and keep a few meters away even if i’m working outside on the garden or volunteering around the site !
If you wish to buy things please PM me and I can send photos and post items or leave them somewhere for collection locally. Your support would be a great help as having no income for a few weeks or months is going to be tough on small businesses.
If we all work together and stay apart we can get through this safely.
The pottery studio is currently Open. ( 20/03/2020 ).
Pottery studio Covid-19 precautions update.
The studio will be open as usual ( for now ) Tuesdays to Fridays. I will still be running the regular Tuesday and Thursday classes for those who wish to come along. I am monitoring the situation daily and will let you know of any changes to this.
I am disinfecting door handles, taps etc. Have extra wipes, hot water and soap on hand for washing hands. I’m washing aprons after each persons use, but bringing your own would also be good. I usually use cloth towels for hand drying because i’m trying to be zero waste, but for now I’ve ordered disposable wipes, which I’ll burn after use.
I can take contactless payments, and have wee tongs to handle the money too !
AS my regulars know I have rhinitis and allergies, so don’t be alarmed by my runny nose, any hint of any other symptoms and I’ll be closing the door.
This is a bad time for everyone, and emerging from the winter months with very little trade, it may well be the end for many small businesses like mine, your continued support will be most welcome. I’d also like to say if anyone locally has to self isolate and needs supplies or help, please let me know, Also if any of my pottery regulars would like some clay to play with at home, or for me to finish off any of their work just get in touch.
stay well & be most excellent to each other.
I will Not taking any workshop bookings.
I will not be hugging friends- we can do a little dance instead, & I would ask people to observe social distancing please for all our safety.
Over the coming days and weeks if we are all shut down, stuck at home, self isolating, entertaining children at home and out of work; I am going to run a series of online things for fun.
~ art/ crafts/ creative themed open exhibitions kids and adults.
~ a blog listing online resources for projects to do with children.
~ an online exhibition of pottery by learner/ pottery workshop attendees/ students done at the Smithy.
~ continuing my waffling video diary nonsense.
~ kids art competitions ? although I don’t like having winners and losers and prizes will be an issue.
