A list of Activities for people stuck at home. young and old.

I’m gathering here loads of links for activities you can do at home especially when we’re all isolating due to the Covid-19 lock down, these are for children and adults.
Disclaimer; I cannot vouch for all these links as I haven’t had time to check everything out myself, have a responsible adult around when working on the internet.
For parents worried about being able to home school, there are plenty of resources available, but more important that the curriculum at this time is that your family feel safe, loved, and anxiety free. It’s hard to stay patient when everyone is indoors together, but kindness, empathy and a playful , creative approach will help your family adjust and get through this better. Kids mental health is more important that the three R’s. Be careful about letting your own adult fears and anxieties come out in front of the kids, focus on the positive if possible, involve them in the household chores and cooking. A routine is important for everyone’s health and well being, laying around in bed all day if you don’t physically have to, will soon get boring and depressing. Keep in touch with family and friends through social media and the phone, stay connected even though you can’t be together physically.

We’re living in historical times so keep a record, a diary, a video log, a blog, there are loads of apps available to help with this, the kids will teach you how !

A memory box is a great way of capturing the feelings and mementos of difficult times and putting them somewhere safe.

Drawing comic strips is one of my favourite methods of capturing what is going on.

I will be adding to this page on a regular basis, feel free to send me more links and ideas.

I’m also going to run some online art and craft challenges for people to join in with. stay tuned !

stay safe, stay social but socially distance, keep it fun, keep it creative. Vicky Tuesday 24/03/2020
