Today was the first day of a local week long christmas craft fair. This one is situated in the venue which houses the community run ‘iGallery’ which is a showcase for local artists, makers and hobby crafters through the summer months. I used to run a pottery studio on the same site 10 + years ago, and I tended to find that no matter how much christmas shopping opening was advertised, people locally tended to head to town for their gift shopping. Most people also seem to have bought their goodies back earlier in the autumn. I hope this fair works out well though, not everyone is comfortable with internet shopping and no-one wants to brave the traffic and crowds in town! The fair is Open until Saturday 6th, from 1030am until 4.30pm. It has a wide range of products to suit all tastes and pockets. There is also hot drinks and home baking on offer. A few new hobby craft makers have come on board to exhibit this week, so i hope that they do well.
this is my table and wall display. I’ve got a range of crafty items, some raku pottery, wooden flowers, tree decorations, the lochcarron map poster, pottery jewellery, buttons, charms, prints, cards, and original art, both framed, unframed and canvases. Local tastes are quite traditional so I try to tailor my displays to more of the animals and highland themes when selling locally. Hopefully everyone will sell well this week and it could be a regular event. Meanwhile if you don’t live nearby & like anything in my on-line shop, please e-mail me ! I will be putting the latest designs up for sale shortly too.
